PALM SPRINGS

• In Coachella Valley, shooting Cocoa Puffs' ad. That was the goal of the journey. You can watch the ad here. No no, no link. Just kidding :)
• Took a looong walk in the desert to find the hidden lake, Thousand Palms Oasis. My memory is not clear now, I do not want to think it was a  mirage?!*%&
• Had a great time at the poolside. Sorry guys, I know it is not fair :| Can you imagine, not even two hours drive from here? :)

• Havuz başında harika vakit geçirdik. Üzgünüm, biliyorum hiç adil değil :| İnanabiliyor musunuz, buradan iki saat bile sürmüyor? :)

Friday night, we got a call from our friends: "hey, let's go to Palm Springs!". Last minute plan, and we've spent the weekend in Palm Springs. It was wonderful. Wait for the next post for the details. This is just before we left home.

I am right in front of Elyse Walker's famous boutique in Pacific Palisades, an affluent neighborhood, known as "Where The Mountains Meet the Sea" and is home to numerous Hollywood celebrities and luminaries. We like to explore all the neighborhoods by visiting their local cafes. My dad used to take us and show all the back streets of the city we used to live in. That might be why I always am curious about especially the dark streets of Beyoğlu, Istanbul. OK, I know, I digress. Well, do we have a subject anyway? I just write what I think at the moment :P

This jacket goes with everything (to me :) ), makes all outfits casual and easy. About the boots, well, I was looking for a leather pair but just couldn't find as low cut as I like. These are suede again :) I like the fact that you just pull them on. No zippers, no buckles, no laces :)

Tam da ünlü Elyse Walker butiğin önündeyim :) Pacific Palisades'te. Zengin bir semt. "Dağların Denize Kavuştuğu Yer" olarak biliniyor. Birçok ünlünün yaşadığı yer aynı zamanda. Tüm semtleri gezip, özellikle yerel kafelerinde oturup, öğrenmeyi seviyoruz. Babacığım da her pazar yaşadığımız şehrin tüm arka sokaklarını gezdirip gösterirdi bize :) Belki de ondandır, özellikle Beyoğlu'nun arka sokakları hep ilgimi çekmiştir. Tamam tamam konunun iyice dışına çıktım biliyorum. Ama konu yok ki zaten aklıma geleni yazmıyor muyum? :P

Bu ceket herşeyle oluyor, bana göre tabii :) Tüm kıyafetleri rahat ve sıradan yapabiliyor. Botlar ise, uzun zamandır deri aramama rağmen yine süet. Ama diğerlerinde bu kadar kısa, bileğin hemen altında duranını bulamadım. Sadece çekip ayağıma geçirebilmek de güzel. Fermuar, bağcık ya da toka yok :)

SWEATER

I love the quirky way of imitating the sweetheart neckline. From H&M, you may want to go with bigger sizes, otherwise it is so tight. This is 4 sizes bigger than my regular size :P

Well, we are in the kids section of the bookstore, and here I am, reading "The Nutcracker" :) After all, tis the season to be jolly, no? ;)

Bu kazağın siyah beyaz ile ayrılmış yaka detayını seviyorum. H&M'den. Çok dar olduğundan büyük bedenleri denemek daha iyi bence. Benim gerçek bedenimden 4 beden büyük  :P

Kitapçıda çocuk bölümünde "Fındıkkıran"ı okuyorum :) Sonuçta eğlenme neşelenme zamanı öyle değil mi?  ;)

Baking on Sunday

Today is a laaazzzyyyy day! Had a very late breakfast. Decided to bake Turkish Blacksea style pide. Oh, I wish I was at Çakırtepe, Ünye, eating the most delicious pide of all. That's my dad's place :) You should definitely go and try if you are around.

After our big breakfast, as if we didn't have enough, I was so eager to decorate a pumpkin pie. Had a little time to do that, though. This is more like pumpkin cheesecake.

Bugün evde tembellik yaptığımız birgün! Çok geç bir kahvaltı. Karadeniz pidesi yapmaya karar verdim. Ah ah Ünye'de Çakırtepe'de olmak ve dünyanın en iyi pidesini yemek vardı ya! Babacığımın yeri :) Eğer yolunuz düşerse mutlaka gidip tatmalısınız.

Kocaman kahvaltımızdan sonra, yetmiyormuş gibi, bir de balkabağı turtası süsleyeceğim diye tutturdum :) Kısa bir vaktim vardı aslında süsleme için. Tarif balkabağı-peynir kekine (cheesecake) benziyor.

I've got a snakeskin piece :) H&M jersey skirt, so comfy. Feel like roaring and hissing at the same time :P I love sporting and sharing what my beloved friend Özlem, a.k.a "the Fashionista" tells in her blog. Thanks girl! ;) Love you! OK, enough, I send my love almost everyday anyways :)

OK, I am a big fan of Emmanuelle Alt, Editor-in-Chief of French Vogue, and I was thinking to write about her telling you that I somehow feel so close to her :P But now, I want to talk about "other girl". More than her fabulously easy and chic style, I was wondering how on earth Emmanuelle could find a companion in her very similar, yet again unique style. After reading about her in Columbine's post today, I was like "Yesss finally, talk more about her!!". Capucine Safyurtlu, the Fashion and Marketing Editor of French Vogue. She seems so comfy in her own skin. So calm yet cheerful. She is most probably half Turkish or married to someone Turkish.

Doğrusu, çok beğendiğim Emmanuelle Alt, Fransız Vogue'un baş editörü, hakkında yazıp birşekilde kendime çok yakın hissettiğimden bahsedecektim :P Ama burada, inanılmaz sade ve şık stilinden çok, nasıl olur da kendine bu kadar benzeyen, yine de nevi şahsına münhasır havası olan iş arkadaşı bulur diye merak ederken, bugün Columbine'in de yazısı üzerine "diğer kız"ı yazmak istiyorum. Capucine Safyurtlu, yine Fransız Vogue'un Moda ve Pazarlama editörü. Kendinden çok emin. Çok rahat, sakin aynı zamanda keyifli. Büyük ihtimalle yarı Türk ya da bir Türk ile evli.
