All White in Fall

Today is the first day of Fall, September 22nd. And despite what they say "no white after labor day", I put all white on. I love wearing my silvers all at the same time, nowadays.

First browsed the shelves of TJMaxx and then went to grab a quick lunch from WholeFoods. Fish tacos, yaay! I have to admit that I am a cheap chic and always look for a good deal. But always opt for good quality. Right at this point, TJ Maxx's runway section comes to mind. Ohhhh yeah, most of my designer stuffs are from TJMaxx. You've got it ;), this James Perse tshirt, Oscar de la Renta haircalf belt are from there. Saks online sale events, Off 5th, Last Call Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom Rack come next.

Bugün sonbaharın ilk günüydü. Buradakiler İşçi bayramından sonra beyaz giyilmez dese de, ben aksine beyaza bulandım. Evet burada Mayıs'ta değil Eylül başında kutlanıyor.

Önce TJMaxx'ın raflarını yine gözden geçirip, WholeFoods'dan hızlıca öğle yemeğimi aldım. Balık takoları, mmmm. İtiraf etmeliyim ki ucuzcu bir giyim meraklısıyım, herzaman en iyi fiyatı bulmaya çalışırım. Ama kaliteli olan içindir çabam :) İşte bu noktada insanın aklına TJ Maxx'ın podyum bölümü geliyor. Evet evet, benim de tasarımcı imzalı kıyafetlerimin çoğu TJMaxx'tan. Hemen anladınız ;) , buradaki James Perse tişörtüm ve Oscar de la Renta kemerim de oradan. I bought these beautiful LAMB sandals for my sister-in-law's wedding last year and never wore it again :( That night, I had a very bad foot issue :P I am literally limping when I put them on. And as you can guess, this was only for photo shooting :) I love them, though.

And at the end I had to change them. We were out to Tim Burton exhibit at LACMA. He is insane, sensitive, loving :)), so weird yet mysterious, and that I adore. We as a family are addicted to his movies. Going to write about some of his collections later.

About the tribal woman on my shirt: I love her, love her make-up, her jewellery, her turban. I love her eyes. Am I in love?? I feel like we become one when I wear it.

Sonunda tabii ki ayakkabıları değiştirmek zorunda kaldım. O gün LACMA'daki Tim Burton sergisine gittik. Çılgın, hassas, sevecen :)), çok tuhaf ama esrarengiz, işte bu.. Ailecek filmlerine bağımlıyız. Sergideki koleksiyonlar hakkında daha sonra yazacağım. 

Tişörtümdeki yerli kadın hakkında ise: çok seviyor, onun gibi hissetmek istiyorum. Makyajına, mücevherlerine, türbanına.. Gözlerine.. aşık mıyım nedir?? Bütün olduğumuzu hissediyorum üzerimdeyken.

Damla - The Most Beautiful Beaded Collar

Look at this eye catching collar. I fell in love with it at first sight. Bold, beaded, jeweled, beautiful! You'll feel like your princess crown is on your shoulders. My cousin Damla is a true artist. I feel like I have to talk about her work more often here. She's been designing jewellery enthusiastically for years now. This is her passion. I have some pieces from her, and love to wear them. But, this was something new, brilliant, seducing, well at least to me, might be man repelling, though ;) At the end, for me, that is the whole idea :)) Oh maaan, I cannot pass without mentioning about her, I love manrepeller, go check it out!

All the stones and glass beads are hand-sewn.

She loves playing and knitting with all kind of beads, stones, metals, chains, you name it. And she just turned to embroidery and created some beautiful canvas work that turned out to be pins, earrings, and even belts.

Hey, I almost forgot to tell you that even Ece Sukan wears one of her bracelets!! Okay, I leave you with the slideshow above. Enjoy! She is about to create a blog and might sell her products online.

Bu yaka gözünüzü kamaştırmadı mı? Ben ilk gördüğümde aşık oldum. Cüretkar, taşlı, boncuklu, çok güzel! Taktığınızda prenses tacınızı omuzlarınızda hissedeceksiniz. Ortaya çıkaran kuzenim Damla, gerçek bir sanatçı. Tasarımlarından çok daha fazla bahsetmem gerekiyor burada. Yıllardır şevkle takılar hazırlıyor. Tam bir tutku onun için. Takmaya bayıldığım birkaç parça da bende var. Yalnız, bu diğerlerinden farklı, dahice, baştan çıkarıcıydı, tamam tamam belki benim için, belki erkeklere itici bile gelebilir ;) Ama sonunda benim için tüm amacı bu olabilir :)) Yok yok ondan bahsetmeden geçemeyeceğim, manrepeller tam bana göre, zamanınız varsa okumanızı tavsiye ederim.

Damla, taşlar, boncuklar, metal, zincir, aklınıza gelen hertürlü malzeme ile oynamaya, örgü tasarımlar yapmaya bayılıyor. Şimdi de nakışa başlayıp, kanaviçe ile yaka iğneleri, küpeler, hatta kemerler hazırladı.

Az kalsın bilekliklerinden birini Ece Sükan'ın taktığını söylemeden geçecektim!! Artık sizi yukarıdaki slayt gösterisi ile başbaşa bırakıyorum. İyi seyirler! Kendisi de yakında kendi blogunu yazmaya başlayacak. Ve kimbilir tüm takılarını internet üzerinden alabiliriz.

Angel's Feet

I love watching my little fairy dancing. She is literally getting high while dancing :) Seriously! And the little brother is following her steps :) She was looking forward to taking Broadway Jazz classes, but isn't old enough to get into those :( Improving her tap and ballet skills for now. And I am taking it back to my side and wondering how I could do in Tap classes. What do you think?

I would definitely prefer Flamenco, but my last attempt did not satisfy me, I have to find a professional school. I miss Melek Yel, you might remember my post about flamenco.

And I miss soooo much my Collage days in Boston. Who knows, I might get a chance to dance with Collage West one day.

Minik meleğimi dans ederken seyretmek kadar mutlu eden birşey yok sanırım beni. Bitanem kendinden geçiyor. Gerçekten! Ve minik kardeşi de ablasının her adımını takip ediyor :) Bu sene Broadway Jazz dersleri almayı çok istiyordu ama yaşı tutmadı :( Şimdilik tap ve baleyi geliştirmeye çalışıyor. Şimdi bana dönüyorum, acaba ben nasıl yapardım Tap dansta? Ne dersiniz?

Flamenko'yu kesinlikle tercih ederim, ama burada istediğim gibi bir okul bulamadım. Melek Yel gibisi az bulunur sanırım. Flamenko ile ilgili yazımı hatırlıyor olabilirsiniz.

Ve Boston'daki Collage günlerim, ahh çok özlüyorum. Kim bilir, belki birgün Collage Batı yakası ile dans etme fırsatım olur.

So soft, calm, cool.. This color makes me peaceful.

Blush, rosé-like wine, (even though I am the one who lives in California ;) ) was introduced to me by Özlem this summer, and I've been drinking it at hot summer nights since then. Will go back to Cabernet soon, though.

Blush, rosé çeşidinde bir şarap. Kaliforniya'da yaşayan ben olmama rağmen, bu yaz Özlem tanıştırdı beni blush ile :) O günden beri de sıcak yaz akşamlarında tercihim. Tabi artık Kaberne'ye dönmek vaktidir.

And this beautiful silk dress is a birthday gift from my beloved brother. The crochet top is all done with beads. So flirty, summery, and light. And I liked wearing my nude, kitten heel, studded, chain detailed sandals this summer. Sorry about the lousy photos, iPhone quality lack of light.

Cirque du Soleil and a steampunk production?? Hurry, you have to see this work of art. Hollywood, Kodak Theateeer.. I still cannot believe that they've created such an amazing show, with unbelievable music.. and I cannot believe that they are making fun of Hollywood in the heart of Hollywood.. Not all the time, of course. It presents an imaginary journey through the evolution of cinema. A love affair with cinema..

They've spent $100 million for renovations to Kodak Theater :|

This was by far the best Cirque du Soleil show that I have seen so far. Even my 19-month-old enjoyed and clapped excitedly without blinking an eye till the end :) This was to celebrate my daughter's 6th birthday.

We were told that IRIS CD will not be on sale for a while, and takes at least a year :(

I hope everyone gets a chance to see it!

IRIS! Şahane! İnanılmaz!

Cirque du Soleil ve anarşik, fantastik, mekanik bir kurgu?? Çabuk olmalısınız, bu sanat eserini görmelisiniz! Hollywood, Kodak Tiyatrosuuu... Hala böyle büyüleyici bir şovu ve muhteşem müzikleri nasıl ortaya çıkardıklarını aklım almıyor.. ve Hollywood'un kalbinin attığı yerde Hollywood ile bir anlamda dalga geçebilmelerini.. Tüm gösteri boyunca değil tabi ki. Sinemanın gelişimine hayali bir yolculuk yaptırıyor izleyiciye. Sinema ile bir aşk hikayesi..

Bu gösteri için Kodak Tiyatrosu'nun restorasyonunda 100 milyon dolar harcanmış.

Bu zamana kadar izlediğim en güzel Cirque du Soleil performansı idi. 19 aylık oğlum bile gözünü kırpmadan heyecanla alkışlayarak sonuna kadar izledi :) Kızımın 6. doğumgünü için babasının sürpriziydi.

Yalnız en az bir yıl daha IRIS CD'sini alamayacakmışız :(

Good Coffee

This is our favorite coffee house of all time! I am talking about Intelligentsia in Pasadena. The atmosphere, interior design, coffee is excellent. And this coffee house turns into a bar at night. They have great selection of boutique beer and wine.

If you are around, stop by and have a very good cup of coffee or tea with a hip crowd. You would like the one in Silver Lake, too, but it is always too crowded, and I like the ambiance in Pasadena  better.. Enjoy!

Burası bizim en sevdiğimiz kahvehane :) Pasadena'daki Intelligentsia'dan bahsediyorum. Atmosferi, iç dizaynı, ve tabi ki kahvesi muhteşem. Ve bu kahvehane geç saatlerde bara dönüşüyor. Çok güzel yerel yapım biraları ve şarap seçenekleri var.

Eğer buralardaysanız, mutlaka uğrayıp, genç, havalı bir toplulukla güzel bir kahve ya da çay için. Silver Lake'tekini de seveceğinizden eminim ama herzaman çok kalabalık oluyor. Ben Pasadena'nın havasını tercih ediyorum. Afiyet olsun!

Here We Go Again

Ok, all these times, I didn't want you to worry about me and always wanted to write and tell you that "I am safe". I am safe but exhausted. Had another baby, moved to LA, started a new job, have been trying to make new friends, manage the stress with the kids :P Anyways, I am back, missed this world. I mean writing, would never quit following my favorite blogs ;)

Evet, biliyorum uzun zamandır bekliyor ve merak ediyorsunuz beni :) İnanın herseferinde yazıp "iyiyim, güvendeyim" demek istedim. İyiyim ama yorgunum. Bir bebeğim daha oldu, Los Angeles'a taşındık, uzun zamandır da yeni arkadaşlar edinmeye çalışıyorum. Bu arada çocukların stresi ;) Sevdiğim blogları tabi ki herzaman takip ettim ama yazmayı gerçekten özledim.
